Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that 145 Government Degree Colleges (GDCss) are presently functioning across the Union Territory, including six in Bandipora district.
The information was provided by the Higher Education Department in response to an unstarred question raised by Bandipora MLA Nizam-ud-din Bhat regarding the number of higher and technical educational institutions functioning across J&K, with specific reference to Bandipora constituency.
The department, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that out of the 145 functional Government Degree Colleges across J&K, six are located in Bandipora.
Regarding technical institutions, the government said there are 54 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), 31 private ITIs, 22 Government Polytechnics and four private Polytechnics functioning across the UT.
The department further said that two technical institutions are presently functioning in Bandipora constituency—one Government ITI and one Government Polytechnic—(KNO)
